Staffline uk announces new managing director
Andrew Highland heads-up Staff&Line's UK team, bringing with him over 20 years experience in the IT Management arena having previously worked at Peregrine Systems Inc and Fujitsu/ICL St Albans, UK, 21st October 2008: Staff&Line UK Ltd, a European leader in IT management solutions, today announced that it has appointed a new managing director to drive the UK division of its business forward. Andrew Highland is an experienced hands-on director with a track record of delivering prestige sales for a number of companies in the IT management space. At Staff&Line, Andrew will drive forward the direct sales of EasyVista 2008 and within this remit he will be focusing on promoting Staff&Line's EasyVista Outsourcers solution, as well as recruiting and taking care of the organisation's fast expanding partner network. Andrew has a long established track record coupled with an extremely diverse range of skills including: IT Service Management and embedding of ITIL best practice; leading teams of IT professionals across multiple locations; project and programme management; and developing technology and infrastructure to satisfy organisational goals. Andrew Highland comments on his new appointment: "I am very excited about the enormous opportunity that Staff&Line offers. This company can only get bigger. In the UK the Service Desk market is very mature; typically most companies are not buying a solution for the first time - now it is all about realising value. EasyVista is a great piece of replacement software; it ticks all the right boxes and has some fantastic value add features as well. Most of the incumbent vendors are not working very hard to service their customers and they have not really modernised their solutions or attitudes. Staff&Line has a high service orientation to its approach, coupled with a small company attitude - it works harder for its customers. Additionally Staff&Line offers companies the opportunity to buy either via the traditional license model or Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) providing customers with ultimate choice. Watch this space, in the coming 12 months I predict a mini stampede beating its way to Staff&Line's door." Andrew's goals for first six months will be to build sales for both EasyVista and EasyVista Outsourcers, as well as create some real momentum around the whole SaaS market. Staff&Line has an ambition to triple the size of its business in the UK over the next 12 - 18 months. The company intends to achieve this by having more of a balance in the business between selling software and delivering services and in 12 months time it plans to have as many SaaS customers, as those who traditionally purchase the license. Andrew Highland adds: "I have been watching the development of the whole Saas market for sometime now, particularly in the area of Service Management. Where you have a support system that is not core to your business and you are employing teams of people to manage it - is this really sensible I think companies would prefer to use technology more as a utility and I predict that this market is set to explode - especially in today's current tightening economic climate." Most of our competitors are still approaching the issue of Service Management from the toolset up and not from the discipline of management, resources and time. Companies need to try and loosen their emotion around purchasing a toolset - it shouldn't really matter, the technology should just be there as and when you need it." Andrew takes over the managing director reins from Gregory Lefort, who will be returning to Staff&Line's Corporate offices in Paris, assuming the role of Northern Europe Area Manager, with a specific focus to drive forward sales and market profile of EasyVista Outsourers across Europe. EasyVista Outsourcers is aimed at third-party and internal IT service providers and works on the SaaS model and is another market where Staff&Line sees great potential. Gregory Lefort comments: "We are delighted to welcome Andrew on board and to have such a qualified and experienced individual heading up our business in the UK. Andrew is an extremely accomplished sales person and really understands the whole Service Management market. Additionally, he also understands how to sell services as well as products, which is the direction that Staff&Line is moving towards with our on-demand capabilities. Andrew will be a real asset to the business and I am sure he will significantly drive up revenue, profit and profile for Staff&Line in the UK market." Previously Andrew was a sales director at Whitespace Solutions Ltd, which was formed by a number of ex Pereguine employees. Whitespace offers solutions which improve IT efficiency and effectiveness by focusing on the overall quality of service to the business. Andrew's key achievements included taking the company from virtually a start-up position to sales in excess of $1.2 million. This involved building strategic relationships with partners and suppliers alike, in order to successfully create a robust sales pipeline. Prior to joining Whitespace Solutions, Andrew was in global sales at Pereguine Systems Ltd where he managed the BT, Fujitsu and EDS accounts. He also achieved the accolade of: Number 1 Sales Person in the World. After gaining a BCS Hons Degree in Economics and Computer Science, Andrew started his career at ICL, on the well-recognised two-year ICL Graduate Programme.
