Siteworx inc and sdl tridion provide web content management solutions for mandarin oriental hotel

Maidenhead, UK, October 22, 2008 - Siteworx, Inc., the independent web design and application development firm, and SDL Tridion, a leader in global web content management (WCM), today announced the implementation of SDL Tridion R5 for Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group's Web site (www.mandarinoriental.com)

As part of its interactive marketing strategy, the Hong Kong-based luxury hotel operator worked with Siteworx and SDL Tridion to restructure and re-launch its global Web site, enabling it to expand to new locations rapidly, while protecting the integrity of its global brand.

"Our reputation as a superior, luxury brand is vital to us at Mandarin Oriental and, like our properties, our global website must support our mission to delight our customers," said Christoph Oberli, vice president of e-Commerce & Interactive for the group. "It was imperative that we work with a WCM system that simplifies the execution of our global marketing initiatives by localising many aspects of the site, while still maintaining a high level of brand consistency throughout."

The partnership between Siteworx and SDL Tridion delivers a WCM system that is centrally managed and is specifically designed to deliver content across multiple channels in multiple languages. SDL Tridion R5 is unique in that it allows Mandarin Oriental to deliver a consistent brand look and feel," while still providing each of its 40 hotel properties with easy-to-use tools that customise content to accommodate local languages, customs and sales promotions. For example, individual hotel web pages feature iconic images representative of the Mandarin Oriental brand, such as the widely-recognised fan logo, yet the photos and language are decidedly local, providing customers with a consistent but relevant brand experience, whether they are searching for the Group's hotel located on New York's Central Park or near Victoria Harbor in Hong Kong.

"SDL Tridion R5 is a superior solution for Siteworx clients; specifically those looking to support a global Web program. It enables rapid development, multi-lingual capabilities and the ability to efficiently and centrally manage scores of international sites while retaining brand consistency," said Tim McLaughlin, president of Siteworx. "We're pleased to have been able to help Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group in the planning, deployment and rollout of SDL Tridion R5."

In addition to brand consistency and localisation, language and translation are important issues for global companies with an international reach. SDL Tridion R5 has the most sophisticated translation program of any Web content management system and can help simplify and streamline the process of creating multi-lingual sites, ultimately increasing efficiency and helping to ensure accuracy of information.

"We are proud that Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group decided to partner with SDL Tridion and Siteworx for its new global web presence. The SDL Tridion R5 Global WCM solution allows Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group to engage its sophisticated global audience in a manner that is consistent with its prestigious brand," said Erik Aeyelts Averink, president of SDL Tridion.

Siteworx provides a holistic approach to Web design and application development. The full-service web consultancy delivered the user-centreed site, provided training, documentation and hosting services.
