Rackable adjusts management roles

FREMONT, Calif. -- Rackable Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ:RACK), a leading provider of servers and storage products for large-scale data centers, today announced three new executive appointments in order to better leverage in-house expertise in engineering and product development, strategy and business development.

Effective immediately, Rackable Systems Founder and current Chief Technology Officer (CTO), Giovanni Coglitore, will assume all engineering and product development functions and becomes senior vice president of engineering and CTO. Coglitore has led the development of many of Rackable Systems key innovations, including the patented half-depth form factor, DC Power technology and award winning ICE Cube modular data center. In this new role he will be tasked with leading the engineering team's efforts to design and deliver the next generation of innovative server, storage and data center solutions.

Rackable Systems Senior Vice President and Chief Products Officer, Tony Gaughan, will assume a new key position within the company as senior vice president of business development and strategy. Gaughan will now orchestrate the vital role of expanding the company's strategic relationships and third party solutions.
