Emulex 8gbs lightpulse hbas now available for hitachi data systems storage platforms next

Emulex Corporation (NYSE:ELX) today announced that its 8Gb/s LightPulse(r) Fibre Channel host bus adapters (HBAs) are now available and qualified for Hitachi Data Systems' enterprise and midrange storage platforms. The combined Emulex and Hitachi Data Systems solution offers maximum performance in the broadest range of storage applications and environments, enabling organizations to better align their storage infrastructures with their unique business requirements.

Emulex's LPe12000 family of 8Gb/s HBAs provide the increased bandwidth, manageability and CPU efficiency required to support the increased deployment of virtualized servers. Emulex 8Gb/s HBAs support the following Hitachi Data Systems storage products: the Hitachi Universal Storage Platform, Hitachi Universal Storage Platform V, Hitachi Universal Storage Platform VM, Hitachi Adaptable Modular Storage and Workgroup Modular Storage systems. Featuring advanced LightPulse Virtual HBA technology with support for industry-standard N-Port ID Virtualization (NPIV), Emulex 8Gb/s HBAs allow end users to effectively "virtualize" SAN connections, leading to more efficient host utilization and compliance with SAN management best practices.
